Dr Pretorius believes that dentures are an unnecessary crutch and at best a temporary measure to replace missing teeth. Quality of life, comfort and health are of paramount importance. It is understood, however that dentures (due to lack of finance and /or sufficient bone quantity) may be the only alternative.

Dr Pretorius is adamant about the dangers and prevention of Periodontal Disease and believes that many patients and dentists tend to underestimate the consequences of this silent threat.

Dr Johan Pretorius completed his B.CH.D at the University of Pretoria and his M.Ch.D in Periodontology and Oral Medicine at Stellenbosch University. His practice in Parklands, Table View has been in successful operation for more than 10 years and he is passionate about the importance of a healthy, confident smile.

Dr. Annelene Bindeman – Anesthesiologist

Dr. Bindeman deals with the management of pain through IV sedation. Since it’s administered intravenously, it makes it easy to tailor the amount of sedative used to the specific patient, reducing the risk of complications and side effects. IV sedation is often recommended by dentists for oral surgery procedures to make it easier to relax during stressful, long treatments, such as implant placements, wisdom tooth extractions, and other types of invasive dental treatments.
